From W. Butheley Heyghes Esq Late M.P. for Carnarvon Boroughs.

Captain J. M. Allen having requested me to add my name to the numerous and most flattering testimonials he possesses, I have the utmost satisfaction in joining with them in awarding to him the high character he has honourably attained. Though, unfortunately for me, personal acquaintance with Capt Allen has not been of that length I could have desired, yet the just estimation of his character testified by his more intimate friends needs no additional proof by me of his honour and respectability, but having represented the Carnarvonshire Boroughs for nearly 22 uninterrupted years, during which I heard nothing but in praise of him, my evidence may not be deemed very unimportant.
